About me.
Hello I’m Mike, and I practice as a relational integrative therapist. My modality provides a single coherent framework enabling me to draw on any number of underlying concepts and theories to inform the client/therapist relationship that is central to the process of positive change, our relationship.
My overarching ethos is that, despite many common elements to the human condition, we are all unique. As such I feel that it’s only by forming a strong alliance that we can truly fully explore both your presenting issues, and how lasting positive change might come about.
Prior to becoming a therapist I worked for over twenty five years in finance. I understand the pressures of working in a fast paced environment, and the many related issues; including stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, depression and addiction that come with it. I’m also familiar with the view from both chairs; I am living proof that, with commitment, therapy works. It’s what brought me to the profession in the first place, and I therefore fully understand the need for our sessions to be both genuine and relevant.
Clients come to me with a wide range of challenges: anxiety, low mood and self-esteem, relationship difficulties, addictive behaviours, or simply a sense of being lost. Whatever brings you here, we’ll work together at your pace.
Moving the River is not about quick fixes. It’s about finding flow, developing resilience, and uncovering new possibilities - even in difficult terrain. I see my role as walking alongside you as we explore where life feels stuck and discover how small, steady movements can lead to meaningful change.
